man, we rock.
we are the batch of 2010. and we rock.
Band Today

Alright, lets do some reflection about today's prarade. Music wasnt up to standard and Mr Tan got rather pissed. But that doesnt mean we deprove[deteriorate]. So do not despair. Hmmm, wondering why music wasnt as good as that Saturday?? Perhaps its our attitude. [It could be because we are tired from yesterday's badminton or any other activity but that should not be an excuse to not focus or pay attention.] Honestly speaking, I couldnt feel the music. Its like im distracted. So Bs was rite... concentration was really impt. But how can we assure that we are able to focus?

Self-discipline. Its all in us. Its how we want the parade to be. If we have a positive attitude, everything can turn out well. If we all try to put more feelings and emotions in our playing, maybe we can sound even better. I know its really hard to do so, but still we must try. Nothing is impossible! [Impossible is Nothing! Haha]

I can feel that we Sec 3s are really working hard. I feel we still need more encouragement from one another and we shld really bond as much as we can. [Not only do we encourage each other, but also our juniors. After all, we are supposed to set a good example and start leading your juniors. It will be very soon till we Sec 3s will be taking over the Band.] The more together we are, the easier it is for us to pull the band tgt too. Everyone plays in part in band. Everyone is equally impt. No one shld be left out.

So I shall put something for us to think about....

What can be done to increase our attention span?
What can be done to implent focus to our section?
How can we listen to others?
How should we perform on parade?
What have we done that is a contribution?
What should we do to improve on self-discipline?

Batch Blog + Batch Outing! In the Same Day!

OKAY. I think we're the first batch to have a blog so cheers!

Anyway, so today we had batch outing/gathering at Tanglin CC for some good ol' badminton! We played a tournament - The Deadly Batch Tournament. Where, whoever lost would be KILLED. Lol no lah of course. We drew lots and the Raphael got a luck draw to go straight into the semi-finals! Ohwell, the rest of us played and played. With all our might, endurance, power and strength. Here was the line up.

Edmund vs Nicholas
Karthik vs Benedick
Cherng Hao vs Zainul
Sebastian vs Nathaniel
Desmond vs Zuriel
Daniel vs Samuel.

In the first match, edmund played very well winning Nicholas 11-5. I(karthik), haha, played well untill benedick had a streak of 4 points to comeback but in the end, I won 11-6. Cherng Hao THRASHED/OWNED Zainul 11-2 and proved to be the most exciting match of the tournament. Evryshot he hit, it was a point for Cherng Hao while Zainul managed to bag 2 tyco points merely by his height-advantage. Sebastian could not outplay Nathaniel and Nat took it home, 11-2 as well. Desmond and Zuriel fought well and it was close and dragged the winning point to 13 but Zuriel took it for 13-11. Finally, Samuel won Daniel 11-5. Next Round.

Edmund vs Karthik
Cherng Hao vs Nathaniel
Zuriel vs Samuel

I won Edmund 11-2. Haha sorry Edmund. But it was good play nonetheless. Cherng Hao took the match again with his wonderful counters and powerful left-handed smashes, 11-4. Finally Samuel outplayed his fellow sectionmate Zuriel, to take it 11-4. Semi-finals.

Karthik vs Cherng Hao
Samuel vs RAPhael

Woah, Cherng Hao damn scary but I managed to get the last few points, 11-5. Samuel beat Raphael in the other semis to take it to the finals, 11-2. Finally, we reached the most exciting moment of the tournament. THE GRAND FINALE. Samuel for the saxes VS Karthik for the trombones. A classic Dominic vs Victor memento. Very exciting match indeed. 1-0. 2-0. 2-1. 3-1. 3-2. 3-3. 4-3. 4-4. 5-4. 6-4. 7-4. 7-5. 7-6. 7-7. 7-8. 7-9.7-10. 8-10. 8-11! I bagged the championships! Haha. Damn close match la, as you can see. Nice one Samuel.

Throughout the tournament, we practised sportsmanship and bonded together as a batch. All in all, 14 out of 25 people came for this outing and can be pronounced as a sucessful batch outing indeed! Nice one guys. Hope to have more successful outings like this in the future. Also, tell me(karthik) your e-mail addresses if you want to post on the blog. So let's try to keep this blog running and updated, at least till 2010 kay? Haha. K.

Tomorrow got parade from 7.50am to 2pm. Perfect attendence is not impossible to achieve! Let's go go go!

Signing off,
Karthik
